The apocalyptic action thriller stars John Cusack as Jackson Curtis, a writer and father who tries to save his family from natural disasters that are happening simultaneously around the world. According to the Mayan calendar, the world will come to an end on December 21, 2012 so when a global cataclysm thrusts the world into chaos, Curtis uses his knowledge of the ancient prophecies to ensure that the human race is not completely wiped out.
