Bright Star

Interview: Abbie Cornish (Bright Star) at TIFF '09

Tribute's Bonnie Laufer-Krebs sat down with Abbie Cornish at TIFF to talk about her role in Jane Campion's new film, Bright Star.

In Bright Star, Cornish plays Fanny Brawne, the neighbour of English poet, John Keats (Ben Whishaw). The fashionable and seemingly shallow Brawne appears to be an unlikely match for Keats' serious, artistic nature. Still, their love affair transcends any perceived shortcomings, and they become hopelessly attached to each other.

In the interview, Cornish talks to Tribute about creating romance without physical interaction, the art of letter writing, and the beauty of John Keats' words.
