Red Riding Hood

Gary Oldman - Red Riding Hood Interview

Veteran British actor Gary Oldman is known for his more sinister roles, so there was no question what he would do when he was offered a part in Red Riding Hood, a dark, romantic spin on the classic fairy tale.

Set a medieval village being hunted by a werewolf, Red Riding Hood stars Amanda Seyfried as the caped heroine who falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family's displeasure. Oldman plays Father Solomon, a mysterious man who comes to rid the the town of the werewolf terrorizing its residents.

Tribute's Bonnie Laufer chatted with Gary in Los Angeles about his take on this twisted tale, working with the lovely Amanda Seyfried, his favorite new “Charlie Sheenism,” getting back to work on The Dark Knight and his thoughts on finally closing the book on Harry Potter.
