Interview: Kristen Bell (Astro Boy)

Kristen Bell is a busy lady these days. Currently starring opposite Jason Bateman and Vince Vaughn in the hilarious comedy Couples Retreat, we can now hear her on the big screen in the animated family adventure Astro Boy.

Set in futuristic Metro City, Astro Boy is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son he has lost. Unable to fulfill the grieving man's expectations, Astro boy embarks on a journey in search of acceptance, to Surface City before he returns to save his home and reconcile with the father who had rejected him.

Bell lends her voice to Cora, a young girl who Astro Boy befriends in Surface City. This is Bell's first foray into the world of animation and as she recently told Tribute's Bonnie Laufer in Los Angeles, she had a challenging but fun time doing it. Bell also discussed how much she related to her character Cora, tough on the outside but a softie at heart. She also expressed how lucky she has been in her career so far, shooting Couples Retreat in Bora Bora and then flying off to Italy to shoot the romantic comedy When in Rome with Josh Duhamel, which comes out January 29, 2010.
