Malin Akerman Interview

Canada's own Malin Akerman was pretty excited when she found out she was going to star opposite Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages. Based on the hit Broadway show featuring some of the biggest jams of the '80s, the story is set in Los Angeles and follows busboy/aspiring rocker Drew Boley (played by Diego Boneta) as he falls for new-in-town Sherrie Christian (played by Julianne Hough) and lands a gig opening for rock legend Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise). Akerman plays a reporter who is intent on interviewing Jaxx.

Bonnie Laufer from Tribute caught up Malin in Los Angeles to talk about her love for '80s music, her own musical roots and what it was like to share the screen with Tom Cruise.
