Interview: Malin Akerman (Couples Retreat)

Who wouldn't jump at the chance to go on an exotic vacation where the beaches are crystal blue and the sand is pure white. As John Favreau's character in the movie Couples Retreat describes : "it looks like a screensaver!" So, when four best friends and their wives book the ultimate vacation trip to Bora Bora, they think they're headed to paradise. Well, they are, but what three out of the four couples—played by Vince Vaughn and Malin Akerman, Kristin Davis and John Favreau and Faizon Love and Kali Hawk—don't know is that their scheming friends (Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell) have booked them into a couples retreat resort with their own agenda in mind.

While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the other three set out to jet ski, spa and enjoy some fun in the sun. They soon discover that participation in the resort's couples' therapy is not optional. Suddenly, their group-rate vacation comes at a price.

Tribute's Toni-Marie Ippolito recently spoke to Canadian actress Malin Akerman about filming the movie in Bora Bora, swimming with sharks, and how hard it was to keep a a straight face while working with her on-screen husband, funnyman Vince Vaughn.
