Interview: Peter Sarsgaard (An Education) at TIFF

Tribute’s Bonnie Laufer-Krebs caught up with An Education star Peter Sarsgaard at TIFF to talk about his latest role.

Written by acclaimed author Nick Hornby (High Fidelity, About a Boy) An Education tells the story of David (Sarsgaard), a 30-something man who becomes involved with a bright 16-year-old named Jenny (Carey Mulligan). With his charm and wit, David sweeps Jenny into his glamourous world of culture and sophistication, though it may prove to be her undoing.

Lauded by fellow cast members and director Lone Scherfig for being a generous, giving actor on set, Sarsgaard humbly insists that it is the success of the actors around him that makes him look good. “I’ve never gotten more praise than when the actors around me have done well,” he says.
