Youth in Revolt

Interview with Portia Doubleday (Youth in Revolt)

Youth In Revolt is a smart teen romance starring Canada's own Michael Cera, based on a series of novels by C.D. Payne, which Cera read and enjoyed as a teenager. He plays Nick, a 16-year-old misfit who finally meets the girl of his dreams but is too sweet-natured and innocent to do anything about it. His alter-ego, Francois, on the other hand, is a bit of a cad and has no trouble whatsoever relating to girls.

Nick's love interest is played by newcomer Portia Doubleday, and Cera says he auditioned with the many actresses who tried out for the role, but was immediately taken by Doubleday's talent and innocence.

Tribute's Bonnie Laufer had the opportunity to chat with Portia Doubleday about her big screen debut in Youth In Revolt and what it was like to work opposite Michael Cera’s two very different characters.
