Sherlock Holmes

Interview with Rachel McAdams (Sherlock Holmes)

Canada's own Rachel McAdams is flexing some muscle this holiday season in Guy Ritchie's re-imagined tale of detective extraordinaire, Sherlock Holmes. The 31-year old St. Thomas, Ontario native practically begged Ritchie to let her be a part of this grand action packed feature. Fortunately, she didn't have to beg too hard as Ritchie was more than happy to cast her as Irene Adler—a female love interest of sorts—and foible to Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock.

In the film, Sherlock and Watson engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England. When Irene Adler enters the picture, master detective Sherlock senses her intentions are not all good.

Tribute's Bonnie Laufer travelled to London to talk with Rachel about starring in the film alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, what it was like to squeeze into her period costumes and how her current success has everything to do with her having gone to theatre school in Canada.
