Rinko Kikuchi Interview - Pacific Rim

One of the more anticipated films of the summer is Pacific Rim, the sci-fi monster movie epic by fanboy-favorite, Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy). The film tells the story of monsters invading Earth, and the giant robots humanity builds to fight back. At the center of the struggle are two unlikely pilots – played by "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam and Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi – who use a “neural bridge” to link their minds in order to co-pilot an older-model robot that could turn out to be mankind’s last hope.

Tribute.ca spoke with Rinko in San Francisco about the physical demands the film required of her, why she loved working with director Guillermo del Toro and what it was that made her decide to become an actress.
