Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

Stephen Daldry Interview

There is no doubt that Stephen Daldry directs with sensitivity and compassion. From Billy Elliot, to The Hours and The Reader, Daldry now gives us the very moving drama, Extremely Close & Incredibly Close. Based on the best-selling novel, the story centers around Oskar, a high functioning 11-year-old who must deal with losing his father during the tragic events of 9/11.

Bonnie Laufer from Tribute spoke with Stephen in New York about working on such sensitive material, his impressions of his star, newcomer Thomas Horn and what movie most recently made him cry.
