Tom Hanks discusses why he thinks the events that inspired his new film Sully are so miraculous. He says after 9/11, "The last thing the world needed to see, and the last thing New York City wanted to experience, was a bunch of dead people against the skyline." He says the bullet that was dodged on the day of January 15, 2009 is why the events resonate(d) on an emotional level. He adds that the professionals involved did their jobs and the “Miracle on the Hudson” turned out to be "one of the best news stories of the decade."
