Dear Tribute,
I read the November 2000 issue of Tribute and I really
enjoyed the preview on How
The Grinch Stole Christmas. I go to the movies regularly, but I
wasn't very impressed with the commercials I saw about The Grinch.
However, when I read the article, it really made me think twice about
seeing it and when I saw the movie last week, I was pleasantly surprised.
I really like to read other people's opinions
on movies I haven't seen yet. Keep up the great
articles. Not until I read the previews in Tribute
do I decide which movies to see.
Thank you for supplying such a useful column. Because of your
magazine, I never waste my time or money on bad movies.

Dear Tribute,
I was at the movies Remembrance Day weekend and was prepared to sit
through countless advertisements but was thrilled and moved at what our
Government of Canada put together in a very touching tribute to our
war veterans. Hats off for getting it right.

Dear Tribute,
(Regarding the preview article about Proof
of Life
in the December issue) Proof of Life may be the
first American movie that Russell Crowe gets to play an Australian in, but
it should not be overlooked that he also played an Australian in the
Canadian film For the Moment in 1993. This unacknowledged movie is
definitely worth checking out for Crowe's performance.

Dear Tribute,
I had the pleasure of attending the Proof of Life premiere
and honestly I don't know what version Lesa Hannah saw as she wrote (Tribute
Dec. 2000): "Terry instantly falls for Alice. As they begin an affair
Alice finds herself having to choose between her husband and the man she
hired to save him."
We did not witness any affair, nor did Alice do any choosing. I
suggest too much of this movie "affair" may gave ended up on the
cutting room floor.
Russell Crowe and David Morse carried this movie beautifully. It was well
shot and I really had fun.
Rate it 'action' not 'romance'. Russell reigns!

Dear Tribute,
I just went to see Proof of Life the other day.
Great movie! It shows in great detail what was happening in South America
10 years ago.
While watching the movie I noticed that the movie was filmed in
Peru, Ecuador and England. I
also read your December issue and discovered the movie was only filmed in
Ecuador. Is this true?
I enjoy reading your magazine. My friends and I pick up your
magazine whenever we go to see a movie.
Keep on writing.
Mike

Proof of Life was filmed in Ecuador,
England and Poland.
