Floor Vac Robot
Roomba, MSRP $300

It's every homemaker's dream - to dispense with menial tasks around the house and assign them to, say, a robot.
Introducing the Roomba Intelligent Floor Vac, a cordless vacuum cleaner that cleans the floors in your home, even if you're taking a catnap or out running errands.
Thanks to its infrared sensors, the small disc-shaped device cleverly navigates around obstacles such as shoes and furniture (actually, it can vacuum underneath couches and beds, too), while sucking up dust-bunnies, dirt and food crumbs.
The Roomba also features a "cliff avoidance" sensor that can detect stairs and ledges before turning away from them. An optional "virtual wall" peripheral keeps the cleaner from crossing open areas as wide as 20 feet.
Visit Brookstone.ca to order the Roomba online.
