Not many women would likely want People's "Sexiest Man Alive," and Stetson man, Matthew McConaughey to move out of their house, but in Failure To Launch his folks are willing to hire a good looking woman to lure him away. Tribute's Bonnie Laufer-Krebs talks to the easy-going star about the film and his sexy new title.

When do you know it's the right time to get out of your parents' home?
For me it was as soon as I turned 18, the week after I graduated high school. I got myself on a plane and I flew to Australia. Never looked back.

Your character Tripp and his two buddies are in their thirties, they all have jobs but all live at home for one reason or another. Do you see them as losers?
You thought my character Tripp was a loser? Come on-he was so darn charming!

Matthew, he has a job, he makes some money yet he's taking advantage of his parents. It's time to let them have their own lives, don't you think?
Why is he taking advantage? They get along just fine. He helps his mom. He does some chores.

Not much.
He's nice to them, they have nice conversations and they probably watch TV together. What's wrong with that?

It's a good argument from your point of view, but I say time to grow up and do those things for yourself.
Most people should move out -- you aren't going to get an argument from me. It's much healthier to do it sooner than later that's for sure. But you have to admit, Tripp had something figured out.

Sarah Jessica Parker plays Paula, your love interest. How do you know when it's going to work with a co-star?
I think no matter what you do, you have to be available to the other person, acting wise. As characters, you both have got a job to do but you have to be open to each other's ideas. She's responsible for her woman and I'm responsible for my man. Even when we are butting heads you've got to be available to each other. You have to let yourself be attractive and be attracted to the other person and when you can be at ease with that then I find it works much better.

What kind of added pressure is on you now that you are officially the sexiest man alive?
The pressure is off, I'm about to gain 88 pounds. (There is silence for a few seconds until McConaughey breaks into laughter). No, there's no added pressure! You straight faced me for at least five seconds. You're good! We're you even listening or were you just jacking me?

Of course I was listening. I just couldn't imagine you gainning 88 pounds. You recently were given the People's Choice Award for Best Action Star, and now the "Sexiest Man Alive" title. How do you handle it?
One day at a time!

Here's what McConaughey's Failure to Launch co-stars had to say about the "Sexiest Man Alive."

SARAH JESSICA PARKER: "Luckily at the time we shot the movie he wasn't the sexiest man alive -- I mean not officially! He's really easy to be around and he really likes people. He's not aloof, that is not a quality he possesses -- he's a real people person.

KATHY BATES: "He's a man's man, which is what I like about him. He's a good ol' boy and that's what makes him so darn attractive. He's real sweet."

ZOOEY DESCHANEL: "The women go crazy for this guy. It might have something to do with the fact that he's handsome, nice and charming. I felt no added pressure working opposite the "Sexiest Man Alive." I mean he's got his woman (Sahara co-star Penélope Cruz) so it wasn't like I was trying to impress him or date him."

BRADLEY COOPER: "It is a little intimidating working with the "Sexiest Man Alive" but Matthew puts everyone at ease right away. I have to say that without a doubt, Matthew McConaughey is the perfect guy."
