CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Almost Famous (2000)
If Canada's Sarah Polley hadn't backed out of the role of groupie "Penny Lane" in this hit flick about a young, aspiring journalist tagging along with a band, Kate Hudson's smashing big break may not have happened so quickly. After begging for the part, she got it, along with a Golden Globe win for Best Supporting Actress as well as an Oscar nod.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) Going tte--tte with Matthew McConaughey, playing the sweet, but savvy magazine editor Andie Anderson, proved Hudson was a star with great comic timing and a talented actress to boot.

The Skeleton Key (2005) Playing private nurse Caroline Ellis in this thriller showed Hudson was capable of successfully carrying a film.
