When Britney Spears said she wanted kids, 
she really meant it. The pop star is pregnant with her second child with aspiring rapper and husband Kevin Federline. The pregnancy reportedly came as a shock to the singer’s agents who have been trying to launch her 
film career. Spears had been interested in the role of Janis Joplin in an upcoming biopic.

Star Wars kicks it old school Star Wars purists will be giddy with the news that the original theatrical releases of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are coming to DVD Sept. 12. Fans blasted director George Lucas two years ago when he released the digitally modifi ed editions. The films, sold separately, will only be available until Dec. 31.

Cruise control
California lawmakers have plans to nix one celebrity trend. Tom Cruise’s purchase of a $200,000 ultrasound machine to monitor he and Katie Holmes’ daughter Suri’s every move before
her April 18th birth, has prompted a bill to prohibit the selling, leasing or distributing of an ultrasound machine by California manufacturers to anyone other than licensed medical professionals. The California Assembly voted 55-7 in favor of passing the bill along to the state Senate.
The hour is near
The ending of Rush Hour 2 promised another sequel, it was just a matter of when. Stars Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are set to return for the third film directed by Brett Ratner. But the pair won’t come cheap. Tucker is reportedly earning a $20 million paycheck while Chan will pocket $15 million. Filming will take place this summer in New York City and Paris with a summer 2007 release.
