his eighth installment of the popular Halloween series has several things going for it - including the return of Jamie Lee Curtis as her original character, Laurie Strode. As well, Rick Rosenthal, who directed the box office hit Halloween II, returns to direct this highly anticipated sequel. This time around, a group of college students get together for a night in the house where Michael Myers once lived. Myers, who killed his sister when he was only six years old, was institutionalized but broke out in time to terrorize three teenage girls in the original Halloween. In Halloween: Resurrection, the six students who have been chosen to take part in a live Halloween night webcast from the house think they're in for a night of fun and maybe even a little fame, along the lines of a reality TV show. As part of the plan, they're locked inside with the windows and doors boarded up, but when they realize Myers is locked in the house with them, terror takes over. The film stars some of Hollywood's hottest young talents, including Tyra Banks (Coyote Ugly), Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie 2) and Sean Patrick Thomas (Save the Last Dance), who have to battle Myers if they are to survive the night. - Alexandra Heilbron |
