ots of movie actresses sport false parts, from collagen enhanced lips to breast implants, but the star of Simone goes all of them one better. She's completely fake.
Al Pacino stars as Viktor Taransky, a movie producer with a big problem. In the middle of filming, his temperamental star walks off set. So, what to do?
Well, in this contemporary satire on Hollywood life, the producer creates the first computer generated virtual reality actress to fill the abandoned role.
She becomes an overnight sensation with fans and the media clamoring for a glimpse of the real thing. Because of this instant success, he can't bear to admit his fraud, either to himself or the adoring public.
There's interesting little plot twists to Simone. Every actress needs a stand-in, right? So even the synthetic Simone gets a real life one, in the person of Rebecca Romijn-Stamos.
The movie also stars Catherine Keener as Taransky's ex-wife, Evan Rachel Wood, Jason Schwartzman and Jay Mohr. Winona Ryder also puts in a cameo appearance.
The film is written, directed and produced by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca) who is known for his penchant for making films that question reality. Simone should be no exception.

outtake
Is she real, or is she Memorex? If you break down the name of the computer generated babe in Simone you can find binary connection. Computer geeks are already referring to her as "Sim-1" or "Sim-One", which is short for Simulation One.
