Following the trip of Alma Mahler (Wynter) as she visits Vienna in the 1900s until the first World War, the woman lives through a number of events and relationships including marrying Gustav Mahler (Pryce), and entering deep bonds with painter Oskar Kokoschka (Perez) and architect Walter Gropius.
