A comic love story about a man who refuses to accept that old age is empty of love, meaning and value to society. One day Josef (Zdenek Sverák) suddenly retires from his job as a school teacher in Prague after an encounter with an unruly pupil and his frustration of changing values and increased power given to the students. A man full of humour and playful energy, he is not content to spend the autumn of his life in the uneventful bosom of his family.

An absolute delight! Written by and starring Zdenek Sverak and directed by his father Jan (creators of the Oscar-winning KOLYA). Once again they have produced another wonderful film that is simple, honest and funny. The supporting cast, particularly Daniela Kolarova as the wife, is outstanding. Highly recommended.
