The Blue Butterfly Movie Synopsis

With his brain cancer reaching the terminal phase, Pete, a ten-year-old boy, takes refuge in observing the world of the insects. His biggest wish is to capture the blue Morpho, a butterfly found in the tropical forests of Central and South America. Pete asks his idol, the entomologist Alan Osborne, to help him carry out his dream. At first flat out refusing, the scientist reconsiders after Pete’s mother pleads with him. The three of them fly to Costa Rica, but the season of blue Morpho is drawing to a close and Alan and Pete only have a few days to capture a specimen.

I love that movie

There's an added dimension to a good story which turns out to be a true story. With the beautiful photography of the rain forest, and the inspiring solo trip against all odds, the heartwarming ending becomes even more inspiring if you google and find out where the young man is at now. Amazing, Truly Amazing.

Had a lot of meaning to it for myself and my sisters. picked it out on a whim a the video store ....we have a thing about butterflys in this family...My sister was just diagnosed with large cell lung cance, and this movie repesents to us HOPE. Very beautiful and very inspirational. Shirley
