André (Jamel Debbouze) isn’t feeling that great about Paris.
He’s a down-on-his-luck con man at the end of his rope. In debt to
local gangsters, he decides to plunge himself off a bridge into the Seine.
But he can’t even do that right, because a fellow-jumper named Angela (Rie
Rasmussen) beats him to it. Diving in, André rescues her.
Angela is a gorgeous creature -- a long, leggy blonde who towers over André who is short, dark and one-armed. They make an odd pair. But Angela declares that since André saved her, she will now save him -- and sets out to do so, both financially and spiritually. Is Angela simply repaying André for his kindness? Or are there forces at work beyond his comprehension?
