A group of struggling and unpublished writers meet every week to share ideas, try out their material and lend support to one another. However, things change with the arrival of a new member, Hannah Rinaldi (Kaley Cuoco). Almost immediately, she lands an agent, a book and a movie deal.
While Hannah’s writing career takes off, her envious colleagues struggle to find their own publishing glory and fortune. Lonely pizza delivery man Henry Obert (Chris Klein) tries to deal with his crush on Hannah. Optometrist Alan Mooney (Dylan Walsh), helps his wife Colette (Teri Polo) land a book deal with publishing agent David Kelleher (Jonathan Banks) during David’s appointment to get a new pair of glasses. Military veteran John K. Butzin (Dennis Farina) starts selling his novel at a local hardware store.
