Nick is a Scotsman making a good life for himself as a plasterer and soccer player in Bristol, England. Life gets even better when he falls in love with Karen and the two decide to move in together. But things soon start to unravel when dramatic changes affect Nick's life at home, on the job, and on the playing field. Nick questions what matters most to him as Karen strives to give him the love and support she knows he needs -- even though their lives together can never be the same again.
