Hesher (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a greasy long-haired loner with homemade tattoos, is a loner who lives in a van. He moves, uninvited, into a garage that belongs to a man (Rainn Wilson) and his young son, TJ (Devon Brochu). TJ recently lost his mother when she was killed in a car accident. His father, Paul, is too full of grief to evict Hesher from his garage. Hesher becomes a mentor to TJ, and when shy, timid Nicole (Natalie Portman) comes into their lives when she accidentally rear ends a car.
It's clear to me now why people steal movies...watch this garbage and you'll see what I mean.
