I Capture the Castle Movie Synopsis

A classic English story told in a fresh, vivacious style by the teenage heroine of the piece. In her diary, Cassandra Mortmain wittily chronicles what happens to her eccentric family when a young American man inherits the local estate. The bitter-sweet love story that ensues is far more complicated than she ever imagines. Blending the 1930's period detail and Suffolk setting with Cassandra’s intense and intimate dairy gives an unusually vivid tone to this funny and very moving story. Ultimately, it is Cassandra’s relationship with her father and her own self-discovery that provides the story’s happy ending.

I absolutely loved the book! The movie portrayed the book very well and the actors did a very good job of portraying the characters. A definite MUST SEE!!

A beautiful film to look at, and very true to the spirit of the book. I laughed and cried. Bill Nighy`s performance was devastatingly moving and the love story was played out brilliantly. I loved this film.
