Jack Paradise - Montreal Nights Movie Synopsis

In a Montreal jazz club, four musicians evoke the exceptional journey of their friend and colleague, the white pianist Jack Paradise. It all starts in 1929 in the Saint-Henri district where young Jacques Paradis discovers a love for music through his aunt Jeanne, a jazz pianist. In the lane behind the Terminal club, he meets Curly Brown, a young black girl who dreams of going to sing in New York. As an adult, Jack becomes the star pianist at the Terminal, while Curly uses her vocal talents. The duo remains inseparable, in spite of Jack’s marriage to Gisele, who gives him a son. But when Curly decides to leave to New York, Jack has to choose between his duty as the father of a family and the love he has for the singer.
