Los Angeleno Dylan Ramsey (
David Spade) steals his neighbor's terrier simply to get her attention. He figures she'll be so distraught over the missing pooch, that after he consoles her, and helps find the dog, she'll go out with him. It doesn't take long for that plan to go sour, especially after the dog chows on a diamond ring Dylan was storing for a friend.
