Love Don't Cost a Thing Movie Synopsis

High-school senior Alvin Johnson (Cannon), a likable social outcast with a natural talent for building automobile engines, has his sights set on finally becoming one of the cool kids. When Paris Morgan (Milian), the most popular girl in school wrecks her mother's car, Alvin sees this as his once in a lifetime opportunity and steps in with a plan. In exchange for Alvin's automotive expertise and her needed car parts, Paris agrees to let people believe that they are dating for two weeks. Alvin's dream is realized when his association with Paris leads him to heights of popularity unimagined as the school's new cool kid. Unfortunately, Alvin loses himself in his newfound popularity and runs the risk of losing his real friends, his chance for a scholarship, and a shot at a real relationship with the girl of his dreams.
