You're not likely to find a more unlikely serial killer than
David Paymer. (He's the guy who played the bus driver to the afterlife in Heart and Souls as well as
Billy Crystal's much-abused brother in Mr. Saturday Night.) Anyway, Paymer's the one stalking the night here as all the other characters listen to the same radio station and wander about doing their thing. It wants to be an expose of lost souls pitted against an uncaring and violent American landscape. But, as the Rolling Stones said: "You can't always get what you want."
