Russian Dolls Movie Synopsis
Five years after a summer in Barcelona, where he shared an apartment with students from various European countries, Xavier (Romain Duris) has become a writer, but instead of the renowned novelist he dreamed of being, so far he’s had to content himself with small freelance jobs. His biggest claim to fame comes when he’s asked to join the writing staff of a TV soap opera.
When the series is purchased by an English network, Xavier travels to London and finds himself working with Wendy (Kelly Reilly), one of the students with whom he shared an apartment five years ago. They begin a relationship, but when they go to St. Petersburg to celebrate the marriage of Wendy’s brother to a Russian ballerina, Xavier excuses himself, saying he has urgent business, but in reality he goes to Moscow to join a seductive top model whose biography he’s writing.
