soldier Movie Synopsis
Talk about your bad day at the office. Sure, some people have been downsized or made redundant, but usually the thing that's replacing you isn't also trying to kill you. That's the premise of this movie about a genetically-engineered soldier stationed on a distant world who suddenly finds himself last year's model.
The newer and more vicious soldiers who have rendered him obsolete also want to kill him. But soldier boy finds a community of peace-niks who he befriends and then helps defend from the bad guys. Says director Anderson: "At its heart, it's an old-fashioned western."
A performance worthy of an Oscar, this is a much deeper movie than it seems at first. Kurt Russell deserves more credit than he gets.
This movie is like the stereotypical western movie: Stranger comes to town, towns people accepts stranger into the community, the community gets attacked by bad guys... That about sums it up. It`s no Oscar-winning quality acting; but for a sci-fi action feature, it`s awesome!!!
I think soldier`s a realy cool film, and im gonna watch it again and again and have kurt russels babies!
