An old-time space jockey (Eastwood) is the perfect choice to send into orbit to try and fix a satellite launched in the 1960s that's malfunctioned and his heading back to Earth where it'll cause a disaster should it enter the atmosphere.
Old time astronaut boy agrees to take on this final mission for NASA under one condition ... that his former test pilot pals who were overlooked for space duty in the '60s get their chance to blast off with him now.
