Teeth Movie Synopsis
High school student Dawn works hard at suppressing her budding sexuality by being the local chastity group's most active participant. Her task is made even more difficult by her bad boy stepbrother Brad's increasingly provocative behavior at home. A stranger to her own body, Dawn discovers she has a toothed vagina when she becomes the object of violence. As she struggles to comprehend her anatomical uniqueness, Dawn experiences both the pitfalls and the power of being a living example of the vagina dentata myth.
Ooh-hoohoo! Most of my male friends refuse to watch this with me. I wonder why. I find something deliciously snarky about the way this story is told: a very clean-cut girl who subscribes to a rather repressive version of contemporary Christianity discovers that she has vagina dentata after an attempted rape. This movie is filled with tongue-in-cheek humour and I delight to no end in how she comes to terms with her anatomical weapon. What a great and very novel new horror film. There is hope for the genre yet!
