The Importance Of Being Earnest Movie Synopsis

Two young gents living in 1890s England have taken to bending the truth in order to put some excitement into their lives. Worthing (Firth) has invented a brother, Earnest, whom he uses as an excuse to leave his dull country life behind to visit the ravishing Gwendolyn (O’Connor). Montcrieff (Everett) decides to take the name "Earnest" when visiting Worthing’s young and beautiful ward, Cecily (Witherspoon) at the country manor.

Things go awry when they end up together in the country and their deceptions are discovered – threatening to spoil their romantic pursuits.

Oh,this is my favourite Wilde`s comedy.I think,Oliver Parker made a great film about this play.Colin & Rupert `s song is very interesting idea.

do yourself a favour and rent the 1952 Anthony Asquith version...it`s still the best.. a dream cast, great style and wit and most of the original Wilde play....forget this version, it`s a stinker

During the shoot, American actress Reese Witherspoon`s two-year-old daughter picked up an English accent by hanging around other toddlers on the set.
