The Luzhin Defense Movie Synopsis
Set in the late 1920s, a beautiful, wealthy Russian woman, Natalia (Watson), spends her holiday at
a hotel in Italy which is hosting the Chess Championships. She meets
the eccentric chess Grand Master, Luzhin (Turturro), a tortured genius exploited by
his teacher (Wilson).
Despite the fact she is about to marry the very suitable Comte de
Stassard, and against her parents' wishes, Natalia begins to fall in love
with Luzhin and decides to show him a world he's never known.
excellent acting, compelling story, virtuosi directing and screenplay not to mention the sumptious sets appropriate to the period.
Not only was the scenery delightful, but the plot and movement in the movie was excellent. The character development helped me to feel such empathy and as I watched this movie I felt as if I was in the next room.
One of the best movies I had seen in a long time. John T was amazing. The casting was superb along with sets and costumes. Highly recommend to friends and family.
