The Tempest Movie Synopsis

In this big screen adaptation of Shakespeare's mystical thriller "The Tempest," the gender of the sorcerer Prospero is changed, into the sorceress Prospera (Helen Mirren).

Prospera's journey spirals through vengeance to forgiveness as she reigns over a magical island, cares for her young daughter, Miranda, and unleashes her powers against shipwrecked enemies in this exciting, masterly mix of romance, tragicomedy and the supernatural.

Helen Mirren was amazing - a great ensemble and moving cinematography!

Curious adaptation of the classic play just misses the mark due to some miscasting and some over-the-top hard to take special effects and a great deal of overacting by Djimon Hounsou and Alfred Molina. It's not likely that we will see again a cast which includes Russel Brand and Chris Cooper and Helen Mirren(who is quite good as usual.)!

  Too creepy for me.
