The Thin Red Line Movie Synopsis

This is director Malick's first film since 1978's Days of Heaven which starred a young Richard Gere and won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography.

World War II seems to be in vogue these days as Spielberg went to war in Europe in Saving Private Ryan and Malick does battle on Guadalcanal Island with a battalion of Americans preparing to attack a Japanese stronghold.

Based on James Jones' 1962 novel recalling his 1942 Guadalcanal battle experiences.

Excellent cast? yeah. Good movie? NO. It was boring and the action wasn`t even good. The story wasn`t anything special either. The only reason people worship this movie is because of the cast. George Clooney was previewed as a main character, and he was there for how long? 5 seconds? This is the worst War movie in my book.

I really enjoyed this movie. It has an excellent cast, Elias Koteas does an excellent job as well as Nick Nolte, Sean Penn, Jim Caviezel and all the others. A very thought provoking movie.

This movie DOES NOT reflect war. it was too soft and boring. It had a good plot and was easy to understand. The action scenes were not the best. If your looking for a movie that really reflects the war on your televison set watch SAVING PRIVATE RYAN. YOU CAN`T GET ENOUGH OF THAT MOVIE!!!!!
