Terry Wolfmeyer (Joan Allen
), a sharp-witted suburban wife and mother, is left to raise her four headstrong daughters when her husband unexpectedly disappears. Things get even more hectic when Terry falls for her neighbor Denny (Kevin Costner
), a once-great baseball star turned radio DJ, and her daughters are forced to juggle their mom's romantic dilemmas as well as their own.
Joan Allen did a magnificent job in this movie. She portrayed (so well) a women that was totally p----- most of the time. She was so believable. Everyone else was great too. What a message!!! Oscar caliber for Joan. What a fox! I know, been there & done that. I have past experience with women like her character. Hey Joan, Many kudos.
i thought it was a good movie...
I thought the movie, in and of itself, was well done. On the other hand, having been a daughter who`s lived through the anger of the jilted mother, and the subsequent alcohol abuse, the movie quite disturbed me.
