Terry Wolfmeyer (
Joan Allen), a sharp-witted suburban wife and mother, is left to raise her four headstrong daughters when her husband unexpectedly disappears. Things get even more hectic when Terry falls for her neighbor Denny (
Kevin Costner), a once-great baseball star turned radio DJ, and her daughters are forced to juggle their mom's romantic dilemmas as well as their own.
Joan Allen did a magnificent job in this movie. She portrayed (so well) a women that was totally p----- most of the time. She was so believable. Everyone else was great too. What a message!!! Oscar caliber for Joan. What a fox! I know, been there & done that. I have past experience with women like her character. Hey Joan, Many kudos.
i thought it was a good movie...
I thought the movie, in and of itself, was well done. On the other hand, having been a daughter who`s lived through the anger of the jilted mother, and the subsequent alcohol abuse, the movie quite disturbed me.
