Varian's War Movie Synopsis
Varian Fry (Hurt) is a journalist who ventures off to Berlin in 1938 and is sickened by the atrocities he sees afflicted against the Jews. The events drive him to fight the Germans by hiding some of the most influential cultural figures from persecution, arranging for them to be shipped to safety. Along the way, others join his cause.
