Words of My Perfect Teacher Movie Synopsis

Acclaimed Halifax-based documentarian Lesley Ann Patten, director of the multiple-award winning film Loyalties, has tackled a more personal yet universal subject with her feature-length non-fiction project Words Of My Perfect Teacher. Featuring guest appearances from legendary film director Bernardo Bertolucci and action actor Steven Seagal, Patten follows the great Buddhist teacher Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche as he globetrots from Bhutan to London, England, in a quest to bring knowledge and awareness to a whole new generation of enlightenment-seekers. Spiced with unexpected humour and a vigorous humanism, Words of My Perfect Teacher brings the spark of illumination to the darkness of a world convulsed with the uncertainty and violence of the last two years.

He look`s and sound`s great very sincere and just awsome.

A rare opportunity to spend time with a Buddhist Master who is comfortable about revealing some of the secret teachings: answers to the Ultimate questions which some have spent lifetimes searching for. Have you ever wondered what causes suffering? Or, what is the path to happiness? Anyway, it was good for me.... Only fault I could fine worth noting would be the author/editor`s treatment of Steven Seagal. I had never really known much about him prior to this film`s introduction, but after seeing the way he was portrayed in this documentary, I am inclined to have compassion for him.....

I found that this film presents the essence of the student/teacher relationship in Tibetan Buddhism. It also presents the dilemma of bringing traditional eastern teachings to the modern western world.
