X-Men Director Bryan Singer accused of raping underage boy

A lawsuit filed in Hawaii yesterday alleges that X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer repeatedly drugged, raped, threatened and forcibly sodomized an underage boy. The plaintiff in the case, Michael Egan, says he was a 17-year-old aspiring model when he met Singer through Digital Entertainment Network founder Marc Collins-Rector. It’s since been revealed that Collins-Rector is a convicted sex offender who pled guilty to luring minors across state lines for sex in 2004. Soon after, Egan was put on the DEN payroll as an actor, but found he was required to have sex with adults — including Singer — at Collins-Rector’s home. Egan claims he was drugged, forced to consume alcohol and then sexually assaulted multiple times during parties.

According to Egan’s lawyers, the suit was filed in Hawaii and not in Nevada where Egan lives, or California where Singer lives, because most of the events took place at the Paul Mitchell estate in Kailua. Egan says he was promised acting roles in movies in exchange for sex, but the movies were never made. “We are very confident that Bryan will be vindicated in this absurd and defamatory lawsuit,” said attorney Martin Singer. “It is obvious that this case was filed in an attempt to get publicity at the time when Bryan’s new movie is about to open in a few weeks.”

I’m not saying anything criminal didn’t happen but if he was promised movies in exchange for sex and he agreed… sorry, that’s not rape.

I hate to agree, but 17 is not 9. He was promised something that he didn’t get. That’s fraud. It’s still disgusting if Singer was involved though. They should clean Hollywood up. This happens to young girls who want to be actresses as well – a lot of stars have gone through this very thing.

Actually, I have no idea how the law would see it considering the fact he was under aged at the time.

Promised movies, not in exchange for sex. Learn to read. He was drugged and raped. Read about Corey Haim and Feldman. These pedo predators exist in hollywood.

Even if this is true. I don’t know why would a big adult would want to do something like that. Bryan Singer is a good actor.

“Egan says he was promised acting roles in movies in exchange for sex”

    The irony is… almost amusing.

sounds like a case of a spurned rentboy to me. and besides he was almost assuredly legal in the state of Hawaii at that age. in fact at least up until recently they had the lowest age of consent in the nation at 14 along with South Carolina I believe. also, news flssh: Hollywood likes to look and feel young — and they also like to look at and feel youth.
