Kristen Stewart’s dream was ‘shattered’

Kristen StewartKristen Stewart says her childhood dream was ”shattered” when she was 11. The Camp X-Ray star claims she always wanted to work behind the scenes in Hollywood like her parents, who were ”hardworking crew members,” and she only decided to start auditioning for acting roles as she was ”too small” to do anything else. In The Art of Discovery, a book of celebrity portraits by photographer Jeff Vespa benefiting the Creative Coalition, the 24-year-old actress said: ”I wanted to come home with hundreds of stories and plates of food nicked from craft services, looking like I had just been through absolute hell. I thought what they [my parents] did for a living was awesome.”

The brunette beauty quickly realized she was ”too small to be a grip like my brothers were, so, I figured I’d act.” She added: ”It was my only option. The problem was getting a job. I was eight years old, and wasn’t very actor-y.” Kristen landed her first big role in The Safety of Objects in 2001 after a year of auditioning and she admits she is now living ”beyond my wildest dreams.” She said: ”I thought, ‘Wow this isn’t just a cool job like my parents have, this is who I am. That was the day my dream of being a grip or a script supervisor shattered, and my life opened beyond my wildest dreams.”

She still isn’t at all actor-y!

She gets a bad rap…she is a talented actor. Her work in independent film is excellent.
