JuliaDisney XD has a new show that’s sure to entertain. Gaming Show (In My Parent’s Garage) stars Julia Schwartz, Jesse Sukunda and Ian Duchene as three teenagers co-hosting their own web show that’s all about, you guessed it, gaming! The show features previews of upcoming games, a behind-the-scenes look at game studios, reviews, “let’s plays” and even special celebrity guests.

We had the pleasure of chatting with Julia about the upcoming season, why she loves gaming and which two former Disney stars she’d like to play Just Dance with.

I saw the show, it’s great! What can viewers expect from this season of the show?
This is definitely going to be an amazing season. It’s just kind of the beginning of the show and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. There’s a lot of awkward fun stuff that happens. We interview a lot of really awesome celebrities and gamers and we get to do a lot of stuff with YouTubers.

I love all of the components of it. What was the audition process like? Did you have to show your gaming skills?
We didn’t have to show our gaming skills but pretty much what we did was we just auditioned for it and then we had some callbacks. It was pretty awesome because, we didn’t get to play video games, but we got to do improv around video games. It was really fun.

How is it working with the other two hosts on the show?
It’s awesome! I love them so much. I have a lot of fun with them. It’s a lot on the show how it is in real life in a lot of ways. We’re a very funny group of friends.

It looks like you guys have a lot of fun. You said you feature different celebrity guests – who was one of your favourites to have on the show?
I think [Toronto Raptors’] Jonas Valančiūnas cause he was a lot taller than us and it was really, really funny, just the height difference and it was awesome just hanging out with him and he’s so cool. I felt very cool hanging out with him.

If you could play a video game with any celebrity who would it be and what game?
Well I think Zac Efron just because he’s my celebrity crush and I’d play Just Dance with him. But I’m thinking I would also want to do it with Selena Gomez because I think that’d be awesome.

Those are two good choices!
You know, High School Musical.

Flashback! How old were you when you first started gaming and what was the first video game you played?
I think I was about six probably when I first started gaming and I think that the first game that I played was Super Smash Bros.

Classic.
I used to play that and I was obsessed with that game. Whenever my cousins would come over we would play that together.

What is it about gaming that you enjoy so much?
I think it’s that everyone can bond around gaming. It’s something that you can do with your friends or you can do by yourself. There’s a video game for every person and for every age and gender. It’s so uniting and it brings everyone together.

Are there any new releases that you’re excited about?
I’m really excited for the new Super Smash Bros. That is coming out in a few days and I’m so excited about that.

With Christmas quickly approaching what’s the one game on your Christmas list other than Super Smash Brothers?
I actually still don’t have Mario Kart although it is my favorite game.

Okay, now I just wanted to do a little speed round. Favourite System?
Wii.

Game you wish they would remake?
Tetris

Favourite Mario Kart character?
Yoshi

Racing or Fighting Games?
Racing

Single or multiplayer?
Multiplayer

I’m so excited for the rest of the show. It should be great. Thanks for talking with me Julia!

Be sure to check out Gaming Show (In My Parents’ Garage) every Sunday at 6 p.m. ET. on Disney XD. ~Janine Wyslobicky
