Rob Pattinson signing autographsOn the Ellen DeGeneres Show Robert Pattinson revealed that during a recent autograph session he began to get a little tired and said something he shouldn’t have to a fan. “It was after a period of signing 500 signatures, and one of [the fans] just came up. You kind of get 10 seconds with each person and you never really say anything, and I kind of got bored of saying, ‘Hey, how are you doing?’ And [the fan] said in her 10 seconds, ‘What can I do to get your attention?’ I was like, ‘Um, just take your clothes off.’ And she stood there and frantically started taking her clothes off and got dragged out of the room by security. I never felt more terrible.”

This is hilarious! Cudos to him! Honestly, I’d be way meaner than asking someone to take off their clothes. Who can blame the guy? I cannot imagine the horrible boredom and loneliness involved in being the centre of a huge autograph signing. None of these people know you at all, none are your friends, none really care about you except to get your signature or get in your pants. Blech. I don’t envy the famous. It’s got to be a really shallow existence. And clearly from the gossip we see all the time, money doesn’t buy happiness.

I agree with everything above, minus being mean. I believe that Robert Pattinson is a lovely human being. He just responded to the question without thinking, or realizing that she would take him seriously. That’s the sad part … that girls should require more self respect than to even entertain the idea that this girl mistakenly choose to act upon.

and i think he didn’t really think the fan would actually do it when he said it – some fans get pretty obsessed about a celebrity – and they only see them as the character and not the person

Sounds like this boy has a sense of humour. The fan should have laughed and carried on. Mr. Pattison is not responsible for the hysteria of young women.

suggestion is a powerfull thing, i’m just glad he didn’t say ” go home and kill yourself”.

lmao hahahahaha justin!!! that would have gotten him in a lot of trouble :P i think this article is pretty funny. imagine being the girl that was that desperate just to get someones attention? in a way, i can understand people being excited to see the star they love, but i dont understand the weirdness and the obsessiveness. all these fans forget that these people are just people! they had to work in minimum wage jobs before becoming famous, they had to go to school and live a normal life (well, not the child actors/resses) why should they warrant any extra attention? why should they warrant getting undressed? acting in a movie shouldnt make you popular and shouldnt trigger this mass hysteria. its crazy. people dont act like this when they meet other hard working people that actually MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the world. we know nothing about celebs for REAL. how do we know hes not going to beat his girlfriend or wife and children? how do we know he doesnt kill small furry animals when hes bored? how do we know he doesnt date rape women? no one will ever actually KNOW these people, so really, whats the big deal if you get to meet one for 10 seconds?

I think this guy could get his fans to strip right off and spread ‘em if he wanted to. I’m sorry, but I just don’t get the hype with him! I do not find him attractive in any way!

tributegirl – i’m with you! i have no idea what the bid deal is about RPatz!! i do not find him attractive. I do not find him cute. I do not find him handsome. He just doesn’t do it for me yet I’m sure that there’s a bunch of screaming girls in the line up to see the new movie.

I do believe that Robert Pattinson is a great looking guy, but it is just sad that people are associating him and his mannerisms with the fictional character. As in many interviews he has said that he doesn’t know why people love him, obviously it is the character. I think that it is great to finally have a star that is not self absorbing and bathing in the spotlight, he is just trying to keep his relationship with the media as calm and drama free as he can, and if he happens to crack a joke here and there don’t take it seriously, it’s just called sarcasm people!

It’s hard not to love Robert Pattinson. Even just his acting is lovable. Sure, we don’t know his real personality, and I guess it’s not right that everyone obsesses over celebrities they don’t even know well. But, that’s how today’s society is these days, and if you’re going to love a celebrity, love Robert Pattinson. =) (though I don’t agree with stripping. that’s totally crossing the line. haha.)

What a dumb ass, but that is so totally awesome i gotta give him props for that if i had that power I’d take advantage of it. Getting people to do whatever you want…awesome i admire him!!!!!!! :P

  12. Red Squirrel on November 20, 2009 9:24 PM

He’s just a guy who’s got a job to do. If I / we or anyone of us was under any kind of scrutiny in our daily lives, it is probable that unfortunate events would occur….like saying something we regret.
I wish everyone would stop obsessing with this person, get a grip on reality and accept this character for what it is – a character of make believe. The obession will ultimately drive him away and what fun would that be.

  13. Nessa on November 21, 2009 2:05 AM

Okay, that girl was an idiot. A normal person who have laughed uncomfortably, said “oooooookaaaay” and moved on. But, gotta admit the guy is a sweetheart for feeling terrible about it afterward.

  14. demigod on November 21, 2009 4:10 AM

Andrea, perhaps from your point of view. But what guy wouldn’t want women throwing themselves at him?! Shallow? Who cares! haha

  15. Red Squirrel on November 21, 2009 9:43 AM

Andrea, you are so spot on!

  16. tributegirl on November 21, 2009 1:46 PM

Melanie, I agree with your comment, except the good looking part! lol The fans seem to fall in love with the character and think that the actor IS the character!

  17. whar on November 21, 2009 6:08 PM

  18. Thibz on November 22, 2009 7:33 AM

  19. 9708790 on November 22, 2009 3:33 PM

ROFL I love Nessa’s comment. totally agree, though I might have added a “GO TO HELL!” glare to that combination. lol
