Keira Knightley fan taken into custody
February 8, 2010 | 3 Comments
Keira Knightley felt threatened by a fan who would turn up regularly outside a theatre, and reported him to police, according to the British paper The Sun. The 41-year-old man regularly waited outside the stage door of the Comedy Theatre in London, where Knightley, 24, is performing in The Misanthrope. He was arrested outside the venue last Thursday night and taken into custody. “Keira felt threatened by this guy who turned up a number of times and tried to speak to her. He did not make any specific threats to her but she was concerned enough to call the police,” said a source. Meanwhile, Knightley has been nominated for a Laurence Olivier award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the play. Other nominees include Jude Law (Hamlet), James Earl Jones (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) and James McAvoy (Three Days of Rain) for Best Actor, while Gillian Anderson (A Doll’s House), Imelda Staunton (Entertaining Mr. Sloane), and Rachel Weisz (A Streetcar Named Desire) are among those nominated for Best Actress. ~Alexandra Heilbron
