Amy Schumer slams Glamour Magazine for calling her ‘plus size’

Amy Schumer slams Glamour MagazineAmy Schumer will not take any BS when it comes to her body image. Glamour Magazine recently issued a special plus size issue in collaboration with Lane Bryant Plus Size Clothing. Among other celebrities, the magazine included the Trainwreck star, without asking her permission.

Amy took to Instagram to express her dismay: “I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn’t feel right to me. Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous”

She posted this along with a photo of the cover, which reads: “WOMEN WHO INSPIRE US – Melissa McCarthy, Adele, Amy Schumer & Ashley Graham.”

According to People, a Glamour spokesperson cleared the air, saying: “First off, we love Amy, and our readers do too – which is why we featured her on the cover of Glamour last year. The cover line on this special edition – which is aimed at women size 12 and up – simply says “Women Who Inspire Us,” since we believe her passionate and vocal message of body positivity IS inspiring, as is the message of the many other women, of all sizes, featured. The edition did not describe her as plus-size. We are sorry if we offended her in any way.”

You work it, girl! Show ’em what you’re made of.

Amy is plus size!? well, now I don’t want to watch any of her shows.
Seriously?! why is she lumped into a category? She seems average to me. Healthy and funny as sh!T.
Putting her in a magazine without her permission but saying she’s ‘plus’ size really makes kids think they need to be super skinny. Now I totally see the media promoting an unhealthy image.

Labels are what make it hard to be a woman. Kids now, do not care as much about labels and I am glad. I am a PLUS SIZED mom, and I asked my daughter if it bothered her and she said NO WAY mom, you are loving, nice, smart and you are beautiful to me. It is all what we teach our kids.

Amy is not plus size. She’s maybe a few pounds bigger than most Hollywood actresses, which is to say, she’s totally a normal, healthy weight. Glamour mag should be ashamed!

the fact that Amy jump to say she isn’t “plus size” so fast means something to me. being “plus size” person I took offense to that. also she is a size 6 – 8 and not even close to “plus size” so AMY stop talking about your size and weight because your aren’t “plus size” in fact your a “skinny B@#ch”. LOL so no more fat jokes from the “skinny Women” sections please. make fun of the BFF instead, I think we would all like that. ashamed to Glamour for putting her name on it and ashamed to AMY for all those fat jokes when your not fat.

Amy looks amazing and is funny as hell. I hope she gets tons more starring roles in movies, but this time, not as someone who doesn’t think she could ever get a man. She’s beautiful and probably has her pick of men in real life.
