Angelina Jolie blasted by animal welfare charity

Angelina JolieAngelina Jolie has been criticized by an an animal welfare charity after her kids had a ”cruel” elephant ride in South East Asia.

The Oscar-winning actress – who is an outspoken critic of ivory poaching in Africa – allowed five of her six children to go elephant riding near the Cambodian city of Angkor Wat during a break in filming on her latest movie.

The move has been blasted by Elephant Asia Rescue and Survival Foundations, who said: ”Seriously Angelina Jolie? Are you that uneducated about the brutal methods of taming and exploitation of elephants in tourism in Asia?”

But according to insiders, Angelina was recovering from a stomach bug while minders took the children – Maddox, 14, Pax, 12, Zaharah, ten, Shiloh, nine, and Knox, seven – on the controversial ride.

The source told The Sun: ”She was furious when she found out because she hates animal cruelty.”

Angelina and her husband Brad Pitt are currently in Asia filming First They Took My Father, which centers on the brutal Khmer Rouge regime.

And in 2016, the 40-year-old actress-turned-director is due to helm a film about an elephant protector.
