Emma Watson claims she was unaware of her level of celebrity until she moved to Rhode Island, Massachusetts in 2009 for college. In a new interview with Teen Vogue, the 23-year-old English actress admits that her time at Brown University, where she studied English literature, made her more aware of her international status. The reason? Her presence attracted fans and paparazzi. “It sounds stupid, or completely unbelievable, but that was when I really realized that I was famous,” Emma says. The Bling Ring star, who rose to fame as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise, says work kept her grounded from fame. “I think, in a way, I was very protected during Harry Potter because I was working all the time,” she explained. “I would get in the car, go to the studio, and go home.” Despite being a household name for over a decade now, Emma says being recognized is still something she is not completely used to. “There are still days when I deal with (fame) horribly and there are days when I deal with it really well.” ~Alfonso Espina
